During an incident nobody reads at length, so a runbook has to be brief, exact and practised. We write one for each of your ten likeliest failures, and each covers what you see, what to check, what to do and the point at which you escalate. Alongside them come an on-call rota, a severity scale and a template for reviewing afterwards without blame, followed by a practice incident.
